So my first Kindle grab this week is one I am especially excited about - Red at Night by Katie McGarry. I don't actual have this one yet, but I did pre-order it on Kindle for - wait for it - FREE! That's right, Amazon Kindle has the option to grab the new Katie McGarry book for free as a pre-order for April 1st. So if you are a fan of Katie McGarry like I am, or a fan of Contemporary Teen Romance - you should hurry over to Amazon and take advantage of this deal while it lasts!
My other Kindle grabs this week were all authors I have read and enjoyed before. I grabbed a title by Sarah Dessen, Janette Rallison, and Susane Colasanti - three amazing (primarily) Contemporary YA authors. I was lucky enough to grab Ms. Rallison's book Blue Eyes and Other Teenage Hazards for only $2.99 on Amazon. Both Sarah Dessen and Susane Colasanti are YA Contemporary authors who do a great job writing about romance and family dynamics, while often tackling other relevant teen issues. I love the cover for each of these and I'm very excited to try them out!
Bookstore Buys:
I feel like I got a nice mix in my bookstore picks this week from three new to me authors. Poison had an amazing cover…yes I was totally taken in by the cover of this one. The plot is what really sold me though potions-master, fugitive girl, a kingdom on the brink of destruction and an adorable pig? Sold! I haven't heard or seen anything about this one yet, so I'm very excited to jump into this fantasy.
My next pick was another new to me book/author, The Perfect Match. This one is an adult Contemporary Romance. I've seen this author featured on a few different blogs, and I thought I'd give her a try. I love a good romance book, I'm hopeful that she'll become a new fave author for me.
Finally, I have another Contemporary YA author who I have not read anything by before. I keep seeing her books on other blogs, and the story sounded very fun, sweet, and light - definitely something I would enjoy. I'm hoping I've found myself a new YA author to add to my auto-buy list, but I guess we'll see.
What were your finds this week?
